1 egg. Shorter days, changing seasons, molting. I guess a combo of all this has got my layers in a bind. Molting has 3 of my beautiful Australorps looking like homeless chickens. Still waiting for my 10 pullets to start laying. They’re 19 weeks this Monday. 1 egg out of 16 hens and a rooster that’s 24 weeks that won’t crow.

I got 5 out of 5 pretty early today, including one on the coop floor when they got let out this morning. It’s been snowing all day so the younger birds are hanging around in the coop annoying the broody.

47 or 48 today. There was one on the floor of the coop. May be today's maybe not. Even still, 47 eggs, Praise the Lord!
