I'm super thrilled. I found a nest yesterday and pulled half the eggs to float and they are FRESH. and there was a new egg today!

6 white eggs and 2 brown. Considering I have 5 white layers and 4 brown layers, I feel honored. Plus one of the browns was speckled today.

I'm all kinds of jealous! I've been getting zero, one, zero, two, zero, one, for the last several days. I'm not surprised my year-old EEs aren't laying, they're in hard molt. But I thought my 7-mo old BA would see me through fall, at least! Sigh, apparently not .... <walks sadly away, head down, shoulders slumped, kicking a pebble and mumbling to self, thoughts of holiday baking drifting away like smoke on the breeze....>

I haven't posted in here in weeks, haven't had eggs in months but today I was gifted with a 62 gram egg from one of my Isa Brown pullets! Not bad for a first egg! Never had a first egg so late in the year before!
