9 yesterday one of the new girls in the small coop layed a nice little green egg

omg omg! 2 is way more than 0!

now that I know they're laying, I'll get my actual nesting boxes (5 gal home depot buckets) set up with nesting material and move these eggs up there! It's only 5 hens so maybe I'll only give them 1 bucket and move the other to where more hens are.

Wow, that is like zero for the rest of us!

I don't even know what I'd DO with 24 eggs a day. But I totally get the decrease being rough haha.

4 out of 5. I have a light in the coop because it gets dark so early, but I forgot to turn it on tonight and when I went to lock them up they were all confused. There were two hens on the floor, a rooster on a nest box, and a cockerel in a nest box. I turned it on and most of them went to the right place.
