Nice! I usually have to wait until around 3 pm before mine are all done. Which means sometimes I’m collecting eggs in the dark.

Yeah, I was getting some in the late afternoon, too, but not recently. Not sure if it has anything to do with the extra light and meal worms they've been getting or not.

3 today! Numbers are climbing. I’ve got another new layer. A tiny little green egg lay in the nest with 2 huge brown eggs. Gogo, one of my two EEs was practicing Saturday. She had her tail turned up in the corner and everything!

I have a girl that hasn’t been eating her calcium and recently started laying again, so I’ve gotten a broken one most days for the last week or so.

Do they have enough bedding in the boxes? I thought they started pecking at the eggs because I found a cracked one. But a few days later, while I was in the coop, one of the hens stood up and I heard a plop/crack. I looked over and realized that the eggs had dropped directly on the wooden bottom. So now I make sure there's plenty of straw in each box.

There’s plenty of bedding. There’s about 3-4 inches of wood shavings with a thin layer of straw on top. The eggs are always broken on the shavings with paper thin shells.
