3 eggs today,

one of them was from a first time layer

10 out of 12 yesterday! Amazing for a bunch of molting hens!

23 out of 31 yesterday! That beats their old record by 5! And both of the young Easter Eggers have started to lay again, those ladies take a looong break in winter so I’m really glad they have started again. My oldest EE didn’t lay until June last year and quit in September

5 on Thursday and 10 yesterday. It has to be the eagles... just a month ago they were laying 20 to 30 per day!

Next week will be the first 5 full days of sunshine in months. So hopefully all 53 will get to work lol

A hawk can't carry off a full grown large fowl hen, they would rip it up in place. A fox will carry off a hen with patches of feathers here and there, at least some at the point of attack. Last time I lost one to a fox (not quite 2 years ago) I followed the "trail" of white feathers through the field to the woods.

The other COULD still be around, they can cram themselves into very small spaces when they are scared. Might not be able to back out, look everywhere. I hope you find her.
