6 out of 10 older hens yesterday. 1 button egg so far today.

There were 4 eggs this morning! I’m pretty sure that’s all I’ll get but if Blondie decides to lay one later I will surely let you know!

I searched every corner of our property I could get to before it got dark and didn’t find anything.

A hawk can't carry off a full grown large fowl hen, they would rip it up in place. A fox will carry off a hen with patches of feathers here and there, at least some at the point of attack. Last time I lost one to a fox (not quite 2 years ago) I followed the "trail" of white feathers through the field to the woods.

The other COULD still be around, they can cram themselves into very small spaces when they are scared. Might not be able to back out, look everywhere. I hope you find her.

As far as I know we don’t have foxes. We’ve been seeing a hawk hanging around right where we found the dead hen and the feathers lead right to her body, and the wounds looked consistent with a hawk attack. The other girl still hasn’t come back, it’s possible she was scared off and something got her off of our property, I didn’t go very far past the fences. I searched everywhere a chicken could possibly hide on our property though.
