How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

a lot are old though
Sorry if this is a silly question, but do they lay less as they get older? If so what age do they start to slow down. I have a mixed bantam flock of 13 various purebred girls whose ages vary from 8 months to 4+ years. A couple of my polish were adults when I got them so not sure of their ages. I know they all lay, but at the moment it ranges from 4 to 8 eggs a day. Do you or anyone else think this is a low number? Should I be worried? Thanks 🙂

Edit.
The breeds include
6 Polish of various colours
1 black appenzeller
1 black silkie
1 lavender araucana
1 buff wyandotte
1 silver spangled sablepoot
2 blue brahmas

A beautiful mix if I do say so myself 😁

A hens peak of egg laying is at 1-2 years. They slowly start to slow down after that, I think.

So you were looking in someone else’s coop???
Duck eggs. They still lay in their house, but four geese moved in and built nests. Hatching should start Monday. Until that's done I've just been letting the duck eggs pile up kn the back. So a week from Monday I'll plan on cleaning everything out and returning the geese to their own space.
