How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

4 today. My youngest pullets have been hiding eggs and not coming back to the coop at night, and I have 2 broodies that refuse to be broken.

I have four silkies in the backyard, one isn't mature yet and probably a cockeral, so three potential layers, one lays every other day and I got two off a friend a few months ago and they haven't laid since I got them but today I watched one of the newbies do the egg box dance all morning. Get in, sit down, stand up, shuffle about, get out, throw some straw out, yell about it, get back in, turn in circles, sit back down and so on.... 3 hours later she laid her first egg since being with me and it was a whopper! well for a silkie...... haha it was great. Soo.... a big total of 2 eggs for me today!

3, one was broken. The ants were loving it though ! Wonder what happened there, shell looked thick enough. Can they get stupid and crunch one every so often?

Mine have busted and cracked eggs every so often. Especially when two or three ladies start arguing over the nest boxes.

so far 1....but 2 laid around 1 pm yesterday so there still could be more to come.

4 again. One of my girls is definitely hiding out on a nest somewhere. She didn’t come back last night, and I only saw her briefly this morning before she disappeared again. Next time we see her we’re either following her to her nest or locking her up with the other broodies.
