1/3! First egg of the new year! Zelda the EE laid it. She was the first to start laying last year too, actually did it on the first of the year.

I've got a rooster this year so likely I'll be getting fertile eggs, which is exciting. Hopefully none of my girls will get broody about it... Anyway right now I don't plan to hatch any out, probably won't do that until later in the spring. They'd be for meat only anyway.

4/15 Felt that cold air today. Said heck no and closed shop.

Only 7 for me today as well. The temp did drop significantly and it was snowing and darker than normal…but we got 2 green eggs which are my favorite!
