13/16. Lost a hen in the past 24 hours, probably to a hawk as I’ve found no trace.

Ten eggs today from twelve hens. Back up to usual levels now after a few days of cold, dark, foggy weather.

I got one really interesting egg that was ever so slightly (but still noticeably) flat on multiple sides. I've gotten a lot of oddly shaped eggs but I can't say I've seen one exactly like that before. (To be fair, though, I've only had chickens for just over a year now.)

I only picked the one that I know is edible. Photographed the others. Pink, yellow, red, brown, grey, beige purple. I think the purple ones were blueits but without my dad to check them I left them.

To bring us back on topic..... 1 egg today!

Yum Blewits! I had a friend who had a bunch of horse chestnut trees under planted with rhododendrons and every November the most beautiful Blewits. I think the spelling varies. Those are my favorite wild mushroom to eat.

Molt and stress is about I have figured out.
Building a new coop behind the old one.
Have 5 birds that could lay would give me 7.
instead I get 2 a day.
