...hmm
One more day or everyone is on groundation... no more hanging out at the stone wall (aka. water cooler) sun and spa day in the sand gossiping, napping and pigging out... ugh, it's like summer vaca or something here!

Three today! Not sure which 3 of the 8 gifted us as our very first egg was this past Saturday! They all seem to take turns in the nest boxes and I can't catch anybody in the act. I LOVE the smell of their eggs, they're so warm and eggy and smooth!

our new pullets started laying at 17 weeks ( July 2) and have been gaining since. This is a pic of what we got today. Total of 14 from 15 hens (one of which is broody so she don't count). Today we also got the first egg from our OEGB that is 2 days shy of 20 weeks. The bottom row shows the OEGB's first egg on the left then an egg from our 22 week BSL and on the right is an egg from our 3-4 yr BR. We are soooo eggscited and especially to get the first egg from the OEGB. She is very sweet and will fly up by me and talk like crazy ( of course ya know I would never talk back). Since peepers seemed very nervous about going in the nest boxes I took a small piece of plywood and cut a hole the size of a quart paint can so only peepers can get in and the other girls can't bother her.

Our first day ever getting 6 eggs!!! Two are from our new EE layers, one was from a new BO layer, and three were from our regular gals the famous BA ladies. I'm so proud of them.

Can't wait until tomorrow to see if there are any new surprises to find in the nest boxes.

1 from 11 they are 22 weeks today.

The egg was layed ON the nest box not IN the nest box. I put some golf balls in the nest box, maybe she will figure it out.
