How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I'm on vacation. Chicken sitter reported there's two hens sitting in the nest boxes late afternoon and zero eggs gathered. I suspect the eggs are under two naughty broody pullets.

I had already instructed him to not remove hens from nest boxes.

If fertilized eggs are left under a broody for three days will they be okay to eat?

Why not just have him reach under the hens and take the eggs? Will they go Jurassic Park on him? LOL

If they're fertile I don't think I'd eat them. I'd scramble them and give them back to the chickens. They would probably be fine after only 3 days, but I would be too weirded out by the thought.
