Lovely colors! Are the Australorps' the darker browns? I have 5 different brown-egg-layers but can't always tell who laid which egg unless she just got off the nest while I was around...LOVE the different shades of brown (Golden Comet and Australorp).

I have two pullets laying so far (they started just before Thanksgiving), and both gave me an egg today. Août has laid daily for a whole week, and Juillet does nearly the same, sometimes giving me a double-yolker and then taking a break for a day or two after. Wonderful girls!![]()
Darker brown is Golden Comet. Unfortunately, the Australorp lays a similar color to a lot of other breeds!Lovely colors! Are the Australorps' the darker browns? I have 5 different brown-egg-layers but can't always tell who laid which egg unless she just got off the nest while I was around...
One girl's an Australorp and secretive; I've never "caught" her on the nest so don't know which browns belong to her vs. the Delaware or RIR. (I can recognize the Orpington's and Barred Rock's...most of the time.)
