How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

9 eggs today I’m proud of my girls in this cold weather. I’ve always gave my hens a break in the winter by not using lights to help them lay more eggs and just let them relax all winter in the end it always pays off.
I don't mind mine taking "a break," but that one year they "took a break" for six months was ridiculous. I started adding light when they were done molting and been "off duty" for almost three months. Time to get back to work, Ladies! BTW, the cold shouldn't affect them too much, or at least not nearly as much as the short days.

Only one egg today. But my girls enjoyed their new run space. The starter coop is smaller than described so I got an extra run set up for them.

Very cute! Those starter coops are always very optimistic about how many hens they'll hold. I've looked at them at Orscheln's/ Bomgaar's. If they say they'll hold 6 hens, I agree - if you buy six frozen chickens from the store you could probably fit them in there if you tried. But live hens? Not likely. Two or three maybe, if they're docile and like each other.

Sorry, they're probably not that bad. I tend to over-dramatize a bit.
