We had 4 today; all brown except Edna's pretty green, which she was trying to lay while I reamed out their yucky coop (after they spent most of the last 4 days under cover during our atmospheric river -- 5.26" of rain, mostly yesterday). Seems like my timing is always bad for Edna, poor dear. Cold & damp but not raining today, so they had overripe cantaloupe slices to peck at in the outer run while I cleaned the covered areas. Very popular!

The funniest thing I ever had happen while collecting eggs a few months back was when I was afraid my Muscovy was going broody so I lifted up her rear end to see if she had an egg under her and she plopped it right in my hand! That was a funny feeling. I got two eggs today and at 11 F out got them before they were frozen so I was lucky.

Despite snow storm I got eight today and the five on the right are the pullet eggs

Had 6 nice eggs again by 8AM this morning. First time I went out to the run, at 7AM, it was still kind of dark. The girls were so anxious to lay there were two sitting together in one of the boxes, and one girl in the other.
