How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Has Août missed a day of laying yet?

I opened up a new bag of feed and dumped about 40 pounds of it into the feeder. Need to go get a new bag tomorrow even though I won't need it until the end of next month. I like to stock up on things ahead of time.
Août did miss a day a while back, and they all took a break just the other day. She’s been an extremely good layer, only two weeks where she laid 6 instead of 7 eggs since the end of November. I believe her longest run was 34 days straight, which is pretty impressive in my estimation :)

3 today, Mei, Juin and Août again.

The girls snuck out of the run door as I was leaving after a quick visit, and off they went frolicking all over the yard. The pure joy they feel when they can run and flap their wings after days stuck inside is so heart-warming. I let them forage for half an hour even though the ground was about 80% puddles and mud. They had a good day!

P.S. You all have such lovely egg assortments! I dream of the day I get some blue and green egg layers… :love
😥 Ours have been coop & run bound now for 10 days. Snow and Rain. Egg count way up 15 today. But still like to give them there play time.

I understand completely. 10 days is so long! I only get to let them out for 30 minute breaks when the rain lets up. I hope your flock gets a chance to run around to their heart’s content soon!

None yet today…but yesterday I got two, both before work. It was a monsoon type rain, and apparently in my rush to finish up, I didn’t pull their “playpen” (extra run) close enough to the coop door. I found one of my banty hens clinging to the wire mesh on the outside of the coop last night when I got home from work. The doors of the coop and the extra run were closing the gap between the two. All I can figure is she levitated straight up and got out.

4! My 4th and final hen finally laid her first egg. She was a full 34 days behind the first hen.

Finally figured out how to post a photo (I hope)! [Yes, I'm a total old tech dinosaur, with a very old phone/camera and outdated computer. 🙄 🤭]

This is the range of colors from my 8 pullets. Front row, Martha the Whitings True Blue, pinkish-brown from Jill the Delaware, olive green from Easter Egger Elsie and satin green from EE Edna. Back row, yellowish brown is Xena the Barred Rock. The other browns are (I think) Rhonda the Rhode Island Red, Pauline the Buff Orpington and Sheila the Black Australorp, (though I'm not 100% sure which of those 3 laid which brown egg).
