The girls and I found a four leaf clover, which they promptly dismantled into something that looked rather unlucky. A little while later though, I found another and managed to pick it most surreptitiously. I’ve managed to pick 6+ four leaf clovers this year already! It’s going to be a good year I think!
Got 4 of 9 today. 4 have still yet to lay, until possibly today. My black copper maran, my. Leg bar/ee mix and my barred rock laid. This new speckled one. Did someone just deposit some off color spots? Or did someone new start laying? This egg is super super close in size to my silver Sussex egg.
The four that haven’t laid yet is a silver laced Wyandotte, 2 olive eggers and a French black copper. Did my copper lay this??? Could she be actually mixed with something like a wellsummer? Or did someone lay a weirdo egg
I've been away for awhile, that pesky ol' Real Life getting in the way of my quality BYC time!
Six of my 8 girls are officially hens this month, their one-year birthday! The 2 Eggers will be a year old in April, but they lay more regularly than anyone else in my very mixed little flock. We're on a teeter-totter ride at present, 7 eggs one day, 3 the next, then 7 again...we'll see if they drop back to 3 again tomorrow.
Pauline the Queen (Buff Orp) continues to lay little pullet eggs after popping out a teensie fairy egg a couple/few weeks ago; not sure what that's about?
