3 again!

Juillet’s egg was slightly wrinkled on the bottom. I’ve been watching her for signs of illness since Mei passed, and she sneezes a bit more often than the other girls. I wonder if she has bronchitis. She seems full of energy, even gets the zoomies quite frequently when we forage. She eats and drinks the same amount as always. I’m probably just overreacting, but I’ll keep watching her.

3 again today, and that’s 19 for the week.

We’ve gotten the same amount every week since we lost our Mei. Each week one chicken lays everyday while the others get one day off. The first week Août was our overachiever, then Juin the next. This week the star chicken was Juillet

Today I found 3 silkie eggs in their nest box - I was thrilled to see I have three of them laying. I was only getting 1 or maybe 2 a day.

My niece want to set eggs for her class so I am giving her a dozen silkie eggs - all assuming I can get a dozen together, I may throw in a couple from the old Barred Rock hen - see what a Polish x BR will give me.

Total eggs over all today is 15 - I think

11 again today.
I didn't get as much chicken appreciation time as I wanted since I got off work later than normal (Happy Monday!) but this is a short work week so I'm looking forward to making up for it and getting the garden up to speed.
