Yes I do that also, or just raw when I accidentally drop one - wow can those chooks move when they see me drop an egg! Glad I am not an egg!

Two eggs so far today from seven hens, but one is raising chicks, one is actively brooding, and one is playing with the idea of being broody...only practicing it at night.

Sixteen out of twenty-one hens today, but two of the hens are broody and don't count. Yesterday I finally managed to find a hidden guinea nest, and it's obvious a couple of my chickens have been making use of it as well. I don't feel like braving the ticks and brambles on a daily trek for those eggs.

5 today. I've been keeping up with eating their eggs lately. Other than the 2 dozen that I'm saving to make pickled eggs, I have only 3 on the countertop, just enough for a nice little breakfast tomorrow.

Awesome that you can identity each chicken just by looking at them. I have 7 and love the social dynamics of chicken relationships with one another and also with us. I can identify each chicken easily by voice. It seems my top hen mimics my tones. Have you had this experience? She follows me everywhere and does call outs with me. Its so precious to me. Their personalities are so different, how can that be! I have to share a pic from this past beautiful week in CT. All the hens are doing so well and all look so great. falltime molts then winter blues and now Spring growth, thrive and beauty

That’s so neat that you can identify hens of the same age and breed by voice. I always wondered if I’d be able to tell my girls apart if I got more than one of each breed, so I went with all different breeds to be sure.

I recently ordered another Dominique though, and I’m excited to see how different the two of them are in personality, behavior, voice and appearance. I wonder if she’ll be as much of a rascal as Juin is, or as cuddly. I hope they become fast friends

i have 23 chickens and only getting two a day i think it is because i switched there food. what food do you feed your chickens. but i usally get 15 eggs per day
