@Winderdear , I love the colors of the eggs. I especially loved the one with the beige ring on the top. My husband said so you don't have to color them for Easter because the chickens already did it for you. I got 5 out of 6 eggs today

Thanks! That egg is actually brown all over if you get it wet. The white bit is bloom. My Juillet often can’t get her egg out until she’s roosting, so it’s held in a bit too long and gets that extra bloom on it. Pretty neat looking though!

That two tone egg is cool!

I got 5 eggs today, plus I caught a chicken eating egg #6. The hen that didn't lay is on her way out.
She has a bad case of ascites. Her belly is extended quite a bit from the buildup of liquid.

I thought about putting her down but she's eating and interacting with the flock somewhat for now. She's not quite lethargic, but she doesn't move around the way she used to. I'm not going to attempt draining the fluid.

When her condition worsens to the point that I think it's necessary I'll release her from her misery.
