How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

These are the 10 gifts we got from the ladies today. I am waiting on my second group of ladies to start laying as those should add more color to my daily haul.

Where did you move to?
We just switched towns in CA. BUT we were right on the coast before where it was mostly cloudy and cool, so even though we only went 20 minutes south, it’s about 5-10 degrees warmer and a lot more sun. ☀️

We go out and catch them panting occasionally, so we hose down part of their area and make mud puddles for them to cool off their feeties. (They DRINK it too, even though they have perfectly clean water available 24/7 🙄) I’m kind of extra, so I bring them frozen blueberries and refrigerated watermelon to munch on. We just had a welcome rainstorm for a few days, and the eggs increased. Could just be a coincidence!

Zero eggs today. The girls all had a nice day off!

@Ponypoor I hope your sick hen’s health improves :hugs
She is still hanging in there. Thank your for your good thoughts.

I drained a good coffee mug of fluid from her abdomen on Wednesday.

If she survives the week I will feel better. Today she ate some meal worms. And I left her in my feedroom drinking the water in the bucket I make beetpulp in for the horses.

Poor old girl.

Today I got 11 eggs. 1 was from one of the silkies. They have really slowed down laying this year, I am ok with that, they don’t owe me anything- they have been great little layers - when they aren’t broody!

Wild water is always the best and very tasty 😊♥️
