I would love to see a pic of you bantam - those chooks are gorgeousThat is super mama your silkies. Her kids are so lucky. Only my Japanese bantam held on to her chick for 9 weeks, that is the longest of my hen. My Australorp is the same like my Wyandotte, 5 weeks is the most they do. Next time I need new chick, the Pekin bantam hen turns. I hope she will keep her kids as long as your silkies or half way.
Sure hope it warms up for up for you soon.No eggs yesterday or today, but we got a snowstorm here in West Georgia. The girls didn’t leave the coop at all yesterday, except I saw Goldie on top of their run for a short while. Today the big girls came out exploring, but only Bossy went back to the coop. I found Flossy in the ground by the rear wheel of my truck. Thankfully she was close enough to grab and carry back for the night.
