How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

9 good eggs so far ... 1 frozen "jelly" egg and ... what looked like yolk, maybe. DH will check for more when he turns their light off at 7 pm. The faulty eggs may be coming from my older hens.

Good Morning All,
1 egg yesterday from my Isa brown kid, she is less than a year old and in her prime to lay all her eggs, poor kid.

I love watching my chickens running around chasing flies, butterflies, and lizard, those cute fluffy feather, feet, and their faces, I just simply can not have enough of it. The day that I don't have chickens is the day I can not care for myself.

when I had a bigger flock I order boxes of crickets from reptile places and just open the box in their barn ... pure joy for over a week lol..

1, everyone happy weathered the freeze. Even my rogue group in the horse barn that I can't close up. They smart enough to hop over to the hay side and cover themselves between the bales...

5 eggs yesterday. Seem like most are returning from their vacation, or they think it is time I get some extra eggs, tomorrow is a different story.

2 eggs, today we started at 5 degrees and by 10 back down to 1 degrees..Thankful we put ourselves in debt for getting the barn. the 2ft full lenght light panels on both sides east and west that really even on a day like today heat up the inside of that 66' by 70' barn.. It's amazing how comfortable it is inside. Everyone doing fine and happy. One Roo in the house trying to squeeze out the dogs from the space heater.. He was getting picked on.. So he is slumber party with us for awhile.

I didn't think about the fact that producers are getting hit hard by avian flu - I don't need to sell my eggs but having a lot of producers isn't such a bad thing really.

You never know when the zombie apocalypse is coming!! lol
