How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

First egg that hasn’t busted in the coop since the 24th. Still feels thin shelled. I gave them some tums mixed with sunflower seeds, peanut butter, and egg shells this morning.
Do you have oyster shell in the coop that they can help themselves to? Tums is calcium carbonate. Citracal is calcium citrate with D3, which is more readily absorbed and used by the body. Since you're still having problems it might be a good idea to switch to the Citracal or a generic equivalent.

They do have oyster shell available, both in the coop and near their favorite hangout in the yard. I gave calcium plus D3 tabs for five days just a few weeks ago, and it only improved for a couple days.

1 egg yesterday from my mixed breed pullet, she is a champion. Her 1st egg is almost chocolate colour, she took a day off and lay 1 a day after that.

My 2 Wyandotte hens are the poorest layer in my flock. They poop small eggs, and about 3 a week that is if they are laying. They spend most of their time going broody back and forth in between molting. They do not return to laying egg in between the broodiness so they barely lay much eggs. I do not mind they lay poorly, but they are very aggressive when they are in that broody state. I am thinking of separating them permanently with just the 2 of them by themselves so they can broody to the cows come home and the rest of the flock can live in peace.

I am rather tired of chicken issues. My first flock of chickens were 6 and I felt so completed, this is my family. My current flock is just ..tiresome and troublesome. I am so over it, where has the love gone to?
