and oops.... we may have brought something home....

TSC had (an empty bin) of Speckled Sussex, a breed I WANT and I would have gotten some SO FAST. They had about 7 varieties, way more than usual, and these 2 little ones were the last ones in the bin. We'd talked about getting Ducks, so here we go!

The chickens tonight were SO wary of them, until it was time to roost -- and they went right in. Nothing can stop them from going beddy bye lol

It was so fun to bring power to the shed, we aren't far from our barn which has external power, so just got a 100ft cord (honestly can't they make 50ft? It's 25 or 100, Lowe's jeesh) and voila

Then we got the bright idea to stick a bigol box fan in there to suck air out and blow it out the ventilation I just made in the lofts. So we will see how that goes.

I wish for sunshine to you soon.
Your chickens are so cute avoiding the cold and hate snow.

From where I am now, humid, light rain, hot, and just simply uncomfortable and itchy so seeing your pictures of snow make me feel cooler and less uncomfortable. Not to mention I have never seen it in real life of such dept of snow so it is a treat for me.

I can imagine the hard work of working through the snow to clear your propane tank. The physical exhaustion and the freezing cold.
I am over here exhausted putting out more mulch in the rain for my chickens run, walk carefully to avoid a fall in muddy areas.

Let there be sunshine and less snow your way!

Hopefully for both of us the weather will moderate - I have to say mud is worse than snow. I can at least plow up snow. Mud not so much!

That looks like my fridge hahahaha.

My cousin took several dozen sand sold them to her neighbours for me. Sold out, and more want them. I’ll send a bunch more to her tomorrow.

I have 8 dozen in the barn I need to wash.

It’s the Spring flush, everyone is getting their productions going.
