How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Wow that’s a big snake, scary, can it take a chick?
I wouldn’t doubt that it could!
Wow that snake is huge!
We only have garter snakes here.
They do not grow big enough to eat a egg or chick.
Chickens eat the them.
9 here last night.
I’ve had bigger!
Sounds nice only having those snakes.

Yes my gang like to harass and kill snakes here. I am waiting to see how my dumplings deal with the snakes - they have not seen one yet!

We do have a rattlesnake species here but they are very rare, a protected species here. We also have many other varieties some that get as big as that one.

Today I want to see who is laying eggs in the hay net, I purposefully left it open - they are such brats!

2 eggs yesterday.

Sunny my Australorp bantam is eyeing the nestbox now, she was out of her broodiness for around 2 weeks now. She had at least 4 weeks break from egg laying. I am graceful. Sunny is almost 2 years old and yet to molt......might be next year.
Her feather is looking a bit faded, it is less of the shinny sheen black colour.

I love their new coat of feather after the molt, so beautiful and fluffy.❤️

3 eggs today, from Aoút, Helmi and Marzo. Marzo’s egg was totally normal, with a good shell :)

Thank you! That was just a few, I have 19 hens and a rooster. I've got one Speckled Sussex, five Prairie Bluebell Eggers that all look totally random, five (I think) Sapphire Gems, five lavender EE with strong lav Orp influences, two BYMs name Dingbat and Dipstick and one Blue Copper Marans in a pear tree, lol. Let's see if I can find a family portrait ... here we go. I think they are all here.
