How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

10 yesterday and today. Exact same ones: 2 blue, 6 brown, 1 green, 1 chocolate.

When DH did a head count last night, we seemed to be short one hen. Only 18 hens, 1 rooster, 2 chicks. Tonight when he went to mow in the big run, he found a body. He said there wasn't much left of her, she's been dead long enough that she was just a flat pile of feathers, but ... the feathers were not disturbed, as if no predator (or the dogs) had disturbed her. I'm glad. I think it must have been one of my elderly hens that probably just laid down and died. It's comforting to think she had a peaceful end. I'm sorry, I hope nobody finds this disturbing. I didn't know where else to post it.

So sorry for your loss. :hugs

I’m sorry to hear this. Hopefully her passing was peaceful, but it’s still sad to lose them. :hugs

Thank you!! It is amazing how she looks so young.
As for her breed, no idea. She’s a mix. I got her from a friend and they just had chickens running around everywhere, so who knows. 😂

I candled today, and 2/3 are developing! One is infertile.
Of the ones developing, the first is the best. I’m not entirely sure about the second, but I’d say it’s still developing, I’ll give it more time though.

Update on these eggs:

I candled tonight, and there is LOTS of movement in #2! So glad that one didn't quit! As for #1, there is movement as well, but not as much as #2! Its so amazing to see.
I tossed #3 as that one was obviously infertile.
