Totally normal, smaller eggs at first. They are adorable and exciting as first eggs. Of course, you will need more for an omelet.I’m curious to know if I’m having a problem. My first 6 hens started laying on July 3rd at exactly 20 weeks. However the eggs appear to be small. It’s there a problem or is it because they just begin laying? I started them on Lonestar 20% layer feed and I have been adding 10% of the Lonestar chicken scratch in with the layer feed as I feed them each time as the instructions call for.. Please let me know if I’m doing anything wrong are is this their starting process. Thanks everyone for the help.

We are awaiting the first eggs from five 18 week old pullets. It could be a month but the CQ will probably begin in the next 2 weeks. Probably on the poop board and cracked, but still...
