I didn't lose her she just wanted to see if the grass was really greener on the other side of the fence.

Holy Dinah! These chooks are bound
To give us grey hair and heart failure

Most nights I have to count at least 4 times to make sure I have everyone. I hadn’t been including my Polish pullet as she ‘was’ a chicklet and I would carry her into the Hen House.

Well one night I checked the barn cams and on the one cam I noted no Petra. OMG!

A frantic search of all the barn cams showed her perched up on a stall wall. Where she normally waits for me to get her and put her to bed. Poor Girl! I had to get dressed and haul my butt to the barn at 11:45PM (-21C) and ‘rescue’ her.

She was so vocal chortling and cooing. Probably swearing at me. I guess she was a bit freaked out being left alone in the barn. She tried to snuggle into my coat hahaha I told her no way sister, go to bed!

Anywhoooo she should soon be laying now so I started including her in the bedtime count. Last night when I didn’t go get her she marched up to me and hopped on my arm ‘take me to my home Hooman’. Bossy wee thing!

13 eggs yesterday, they are all ramping up it seems, my efforts to keep the barn bearable seems to be paying off.
