Egg production has doubled again. 4 eggs today. 9 pullets, first egg layed October 24. It has been atleast 2 eggs daily, Wed 28th went to 3. Today I got 4.
16/23 up a little from the past few days, maybe the nicer weather this coming week will help a bit. Its supposed to be sunny for about 3or4 days in a row and boy howdy do we need it. The ground is so saturated here (La.) that the water is starting to seep up into my hen house and its on a hill side. Oh, well the girlies will have to put on their Krotz Springs Reeboks (the white rubber boots they use in the fish markets) and wade for a few days I reckon.

My total egg count for October is 58 for the month- but my 6 girls just started laying and I think there is still one hold-out- since I've never had 6 in a day.
For the month hmmm let's see
Two dozen to my aunt
Two dozen to the inlaws
Two dozen to our Coffee Barista!
1 Dozen to my stepdaughters family
I ate a dozen
and Two dozen in fridge!
Can someone add that up...My brain just cramped up!
At 16 weeks old, I got first egg. At 17 weeks was two a day. At 19 weeks went to 3 a day and still at 19 weeks has gone to four a day! Pretty early for that. Buff comets I am sure for all so far. BR, BA, and RIR still not producing yet that I can tell.
