You are correct. Sounds like a good thread Ques. Probably if you'll post it as a thread by itself here in the Behaviour& Egglaying sect. you'll get more hits on it and if there's already a thread on this topic usually someone will chime in with a forum address that relates to the subject. bought 3 marans hens, cuckoo, they've started laying. Good sized eggs for beginners. I kinda don't think they;re as dark as they should be or as I would like. Still they're laying in this cold weather. Its snowing and was bad yesterday. I've got a white heat light on in the coop and a red too. The white is on most of the day. Getting lots more eggs though they are eating alot more too. avg. 15 out of 26. got 4 out of 5 cuckoo marans today.
