3 out of 9 yesterday and will be curious to see if any lay today since it snowed and we don't usualloy get snow in the high desert. This is the first I've seen in the 5 years we've lived here. It's so pretty though.

A BIG FAT ZERO AGAIN. New strategy as of today, all pullets have now been moved to the laying coop, gave everyone a good breakfast of oatmeal cran-raisins and bananas and BOSS. Then I did the other thing hung the light. store bought eggs s*^k. We'll see.

For some reason it seems I'm always a day behind on this page. I wish they'd rename it 'How many eggs did you get yesterday?' instead. Anyways, we got 23 yesterday from our 29 GC's. The weather doesn't seem to be slowing them down at all. I don't know if it has anything to do with their regularity but we've been mixing up a warm gruel for them each morning and pouring it out in their feeding pans. We mix 1/2 cup of sugar and a tablespoon of chili powder or some red pepper powder with 1/2 gallon of very warm water from the tap. Then we mix in a large scoop of their layer pellets in the gallon pitcher and mix it up to a loose gruel sort of like oatmeal. They love it and I think it may have something to do with their production. I read somewhere it's good for intestinal parasites too. For what it's worth...
