Yesterday was a milestone for us. I bought 5 White Leghorns Friday to add to my 7 BR's, 4 RIR's and 6 BSL's (four of which are just now approaching laying age). Out of the 17 we had (all brown egg layers), we were averaging 6 eggs a day. Yesterday we got 5 out of 17 from the brown egg layers, and 4 out of 5 from the Leghorns. Though I like colorful eggs and colorful chickens, the Leghorns are going to be my favorites it seems. I'm holding judgement on the Black Sex Links until the youngest ones start. The Barred Rocks have been the biggest disappointment. The RIR's have been faithful pretty much come-what-may.
