We ran at half capacity today.... the weenie one egg from the Barred Rock was all we got. I'm sure the choir will wake us up tomorrow though...

There are others of course with much much more experience here who will more to add but we just went through a similar "drought" of eggs. We only had two left in our flock that were of laying age and with the exception of one short week, they stopped laying somewhere at the end of October. It wasn't until a second group finally laid their first eggs a week ago that these two started laying again. I know one was going through a severely hard molt and that may be the cause but I have no excuse for the other. Maybe it was the days getting shorter. Maybe I was feeding them too many treats and they weren't getting the right protein. Maybe they just slowed down after the first year or two. Who knows? But now they're laying again with all the newbies. Besides upping the protein content of your feed to 19% or 22% or supplementing with meal worms or even adding a light in the coop to provide more of that needed daylight, I'd say just hold on a little longer and they will be laying again like crazy in no time! You might want to repost this under a different topic where it'll be seen by more people. Good luck!

I haven't had any eggs since late summer either. I changed my heat lamp from red to white and we'll see if that helps them a bit. I normally wouldn't have but they have all finished their molts a while ago and still nothing.

New to chicken keeping. Started with chicks in June. We have one barred rock, one red star, and two light brahmas. They started laying 2 weeks ago. We get 3 eggs a day. They are such good girls! Good thing I started saving cartons when we got the chicks.
