Could I be too kind to my chickens, spoiling and pampering them like others say I am? So much that they're not laying many eggs? One set of chickens are 11 months old and in a 50'x50' fenced in yard with nice, lush green grass. Would getting fewer eggs be the result of free ranging them and not confining their space?

I have looked all over, nothing found. They're just not laying I guess. Don't think anything is getting in and eating them. Think they're just a bunch of slackers enjoying the good life

Could be the weather. These cold snaps are affecting my hens here in AL. On hot sunny days I am getting 12/14, 13/14, 14/14. On cool, windy, cloudy days I am getting 8/14, 10/14 11/14.

I have had people tell me that it's more about light than temperature, but you can't prove that to my hens.
