I am PROUD

to report today our FIRST Blue egg from our Americauna. Our Cuckoo Maran is still laying one a day, so now that makes two out of Four hens.

I was shocked...we went 6 for 6 today. They've slowed significantly with the shorter days and cooler temps...I figured we'd see maybe 3 or 4. They ARE smaller than they were, though.

Not sure if it's the cooler weather or just my late bloomers kicking it in gear but we've had 7/7 days all week! The Hens seem to be more relaxed and in the groove now with the laying. Everyone gets the job done by 10:30am or so and then off to fatten up and find the sunny spots in the yard....I know I love the Fall, the girls do too!!

Another 9 egg day! Today was our first sunny day in almost 2 weeks. Rain is in the forecast for this weekend along with cooler temps

15 yesterday and 16 today with one shell free egg from the looks of the nest box.

Yesterday we got 11/12 for the first time ever!! So excited! Even more exciting is that my son accidentally let hem all out early in the morning and they all came back to the coop to lay!

We've been consistently getting an average of 8 a day with one 10 egg day a couple of weeks ago...

I think all 12 are actually laying, just not everyone every day...
