How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

So far I have 12 duck eggs sitting at the post office in a locker--and a new incubator to keep them company. Friday there will be 24. I'll go and get them then. I figure the PO isn't a bad place for the eggs to wait, it's a long way, and then there's the whole shelter-in-place thing. Collecting my eggs is definitely a necessary occupation.

Other than that, eleven chicken eggs, four turkey eggs, three goose eggs.

I've just put 27 duck eggs in the incubator yesterday & I already had another 5 duck eggs in a different incubator. I'm gonna have quack quacks out the wazoo!!!

Two eggs today!!!! My first black East Indie egg! I want to incubate a few this year and increase my flock of these guys as I only have the two. But I am super excited for the first egg!!!

Egg on the left was Ebony’s and Egg on the right is Wilamena’s

Interesting, I have two east indies who are laying the color of your eggs and two other ones who are laying black eggs. I thought I heard somewhere that they will change color over time.

I was surprised to find a just lightly grey egg and not black. I thought the first few would be black or dark grey.

I am currently looking on ebay for hatching eggs too. Because I know I can't keep the same bloodlines that I have and have a healthy flock of black east indies. Not many people in NY actually keep them. (when to a bird show) But many people seem to like them. (strange)

I'd send you some of my eggs, but you'd actually be getting an East Indie x Call duck cross.
