My girls have slowed down big time with the cold/ snow.. thought ducks were supposed to lay better throughout the winter than chickens, but that's barely the case here if at all. Getting about 2 a day when last month we were getting 6+

Am I right in thinking you are in Florida or somewhere similar where it stays warm and sunny? Do your girls typically lay year-round with short breaks? Are you always battling broodiness?

I got 1 chicken egg yesterday. we went from spring like temps to full face winter in less than 24 hrs my other hen who has been laying blamed it on me and said ain't no way I am giving her an egg today. Today is even colder so I may not even get one.

Yep they lay year round and I do live in Florida, yeah its always a constant battle against the broody
