It depends: With less than 10 hours of daylight, ducks usually stop laying eggs unless they are being fed a more protein rich diet. My ducks get some cat-food treats every morning and evening and they only have slowed down, laying an egg every 2-3 days.

Duck need more protein than chickens! Way more protein.Okay, thank you! We feed them a flock feeder and I mix in some scratch as a combo and I give them a little brewers yeast mixed in to help with niacin, plus veggies and peas, so it's not a protein rich diet. I don't mind not having the eggs over winter, I just want to make sure the girls are healthy! Should I give them some layer pellets to help them out?
They are taking a break over winter, which is pretty normal for ducks.I have 6 runners and I haven't gotten any eggs for the last months, any idea why not?
