How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Nine eggs, all buried deep in straw and duck-poop.

You know that you need to clean out the duck-house, when you hit your head on a roof-beam… The "straw" is almost two feet thick in the main bedroom. But i don't want to put in fresh bedding as long as we have frosty nights. Decomposing poop and straw makes it warm and cozy…

I usually do a full cleaning every 4 weeks. It’s going to be five this time because of the rain the next few days.

7 eggs today! Everyone is laying pretty consistently now.

So far it was only necessary to fully clean-out the duck-house four times per year:

But either because there are now 39 ducks living in there or because the wet winter has turned their run into a mud-pit i had to distribute more straw than usual since November. I would like to wait until there is at least one week without overnight frost forecasted.

7 so I still have a slacker in the older flock. Last year she layed all winter so I cannot complain.

1 egg again today. We've been getting one egg each day since the 13th. Hoping this increases here soon seeing as we have four females. One of my pekins was doing a butt-bob-squat-dance move this morning so, I'm thinking she will be the next butt nugget dropper in the coop
