Ten eggs today, sadly two had started to freeze and cracked their shells and one mini-egg:

Left to right: 85, 70 and 50 grams. I assume another of the fall ducklings has started to lay.

5. I'm sure the drop oil is because they need mucking out. I just haven't had the energy. Maybe today.

I can't clean up! We will be barely above the freezing mark for the next couple of days and ice-cold overnight.

My first two egg day since last November! Just waiting on one more girl to get back to work. But to be fair, she laid the last few eggs two months ago.

I got one more when I let them out to play. She must have been crossing her legs because of the yuck. All mucked out now. She went out to the kiddie pool bent over to get a drink and egg. They are busy spreading their clean bedding. Snow white has built a giant nest in the corner. I find it interesting they will play in any yucky mud puddle, but want their bedding to be clean.

Six eggs, one cup of spiced rum, one tablespoon arrowroot starch, one cup of palm sugar and one quart of heavy cream.
Get the best cream that you can. Always avoid cream that has the artificial gums added; they attack your gut lining.
I'll post the directions later.
Oh, don't forget the fresh ground nutmeg. The plastic based grinders work just fine; I have both types, but the metal ones have really gotten expensive.

Separate the yolks from the whites, whip yolks until they begin to build texture and slowly add the sugar and arrowroot mixture. When the mixture is homogeneous, whip in the rum and then let it rest in the refrigerator for one hour.

Whip the whites until they become stiff, fold the whites into the yolk rum mixture with one quart of heavy cream. Return to the refrigerator to rest for another hour.
