Usually 12 weeks from beginning of molt. I've had some take 4 and some take 5 months. It just depends on the duck. 12 weeks is just a rule of thumb.

I would try to feed her some CG dipped cat kibbles then.

My ducks won’t eat cat food. I will try to separate her again this weekend to give some CG laced mealworms .

Yesterday (April 1st) twenty-nine eggs from 28 ducks. - Nope, no April fools joke and i cleaned out every nest on March 31st. Today twenty-three eggs.

It MUST be spring as Daphne is trying to die again. She was fine yesterday AM. I was gone all day having a memorably nightmarish time at work. I got home to find Daphne hiding in a cold dark corner of the barn, completely silent and straining. There was no palpable egg, but that means nothing in a bird who clearly failed her “shell-making” class in duckling school. I got out her Calcium paste and gave her a hefty dose. She barely ate two bites last night, even turning away from her beloved mealworms. I was 99.9% sure she’d be dead this AM. However, no, she passed an unshelled egg in the night and is back to her loud obnoxious demanding self this morning. Happy spring, Daphne.

Oh, so 3 eggs + Daphne’s sad effort. One Muscovy is still holding out... or has a well-hidden secret nest.

BTW, I noticed that Matilda and Puddles are hopeless without their fearless leader. They had no one to lead them, so they split up multiple times, then both panicked when they realized they were alone, leading to the loud alarm quacks from both. Sadly, both cried that they were alone and scared without realizing that they wouldn’t be alone anymore if they would just follow the sound of their sister’s voice. Sigh...

Our ducks would rather have peas than mealworms. I have not been giving them peas lately because there is so much green grass They can eat when we let them outside the pens.
