How many Eggs did you Sell today?

One of the people I sold a dozen of eggs to yesterday called my DH's cell phone and told him that someone emailed him to see if he had found Fresh Eggs (he ran an CL ad last week). He emailed her my # and told her to give me a call. She called and wanted 3 or 4 dozens!!! She lives 40 miles from us in the city where DH works. He made arrangements to deliver them to her where she works.

I just have 3 dozen of the larger eggs (have 3 dozen of the pullet size

) sure hope those girls will crank up the size soon! Violet/Buff Orpington is already laying a nice size egg so just maybe she will give me Jumbo eggs!

The sale tomorrow will make 6 dozen sold in a week...sure hope this keeps up and that all the girls get busy!! So far so good...these folks have not complained about the $3/dozen price. Our neighbor wanted eggs when they started laying but when my DH told him how much he backed out.

The lady was thrilled to get the 3 dozen and she thought they were beautiful eggs...hope she turns out to be a weekly customer!

I have to get more hens. My girls are getting older and the laying is not like it was before. My oldest girl is about 5 years old. Her name is "grandma". Although she was NEVER broody a day in her life, has never had little chickies and I have NEVER saw her in a nesting box laying an egg, I'm sure she did lay eggs once upon a time. I have a lot of new babies but they are not laying right now.

Awww "grandma" love the name Kuntrygirl... I've been getting give or take a few 15ish eggs a day all summer. I've got 30 laying girls then the rest are roosters and young ones I've hatched this year, lol.
