Sold my first ever eggs today... I let my coworkers know that I have enough to start selling and I got emails asking for 7 dozen!! I was washing and packaging for an hour!

Taking the $21 I"m making and buying a new Barred Rock tomorrow... supply and demand!

Also took a dozen over to the neighbors as a peace offering... we're in an HOA and I shouldn't get in trouble as long as no neighbors complain...

Congrats on your first sale! That is what happened to me, I have been getting more and more demand for my eggs, and getting more and more chickens. Where does it stop?

I sold 10 dozen today. I don't understand this, I am about 3 dozen short of where I should be.

I just wanted to update everyone about my post where I talked about giving ½ dozen eggs to the computer guy’s wife so that she could try out my fresh eggs. Well, he comes to me this morning and told me that he gave the eggs to his wife and she kinda turned her nose at the eggs. Now let me also say that when he told me about her not liking fresh eggs, he said that she specifically said that she was freaked out about brown eggs specifically. So, I took my time in picking out 6 white eggs for her. Well, he told me that she was asking what breed of chicken did the eggs come from. He told her that he didn’t know but he would ask. So this morning, he asks me did I have any White Leghorns. I said yes, why. He said that his wife will only eat the eggs from White Leghorns. My mouth almost swept the floor when he said that.

I had to catch myself, think before I spoke, watched my tongue and counted to 10 before I replied. I simply said, “oh ok” and left it at that. Now you know that I’m furious but I didn’t let him know.

I was so out done, I couldn’t comment on the “only eating eggs from White Leghorn chickens” comment. I’m done with his wife. I tried but I see that this won’t work out. I’m sure that regardless of what kind of breed chicken or what color farm fresh egg, she won’t eat it and that’s ok with me. I will continue to sell my eggs to the customers that want the eggs and leave her alone. I hope that she doesn't expect me to cage my white leghorns and wait for them to lay eggs so that I can pick them and sell JUST to her.

. Not in a million years will that happen.

Oh My... Some people are soooooooooo weird! I wouldnt even mess what that lady anymore, let her buy her yucky store eggs. To me it doesnt make a difference what color the shell is, its just a shell.
