Good for you. I am thinking of raising my $2.50/dz to $3. one of these days.

Well, fortunately I haven't had to do that yet. Our feed prices have been around $10.50 for a 50 lb bag of layer pellets from our local miller. It's not certified organic but I went over the ingredients list and there's nothing out of the ordinary in it. No medications or anything else in it that I can't readily pronounce. A 50 lb bag will go at least a week with our 29 layers. Anyways, I sell almost all my eggs to co-workers and they're eager to pay $3 for a dozen. The local stores have brown eggs marked as 'cage free', etc. and they sell their's for as much as $4 a dozen. Right now I don't want to mess with a good thing. We've run the numbers and we're making a nice profit on them so I'm not going to up my prices yet. The Gals are paying their way and that's alright with us but it'll take a long time though for them to pay off their coop and run. But we knew that going in.
