hi i have a silky broody hen, i have been collecting eggs and want to know any basic help,
e.g: how many eggs should you give her to sit on?
how long does it take them to hatch?
when they hatch what do you need to do?
    any help would be apreciated

  2. Quote:I would say 10 bantam eggs. It takes 19-21 days for a bantam egg to hatch. When they hatch just put out a chick waterer and some chick food, and the mother will teach them how to eat.
    Silkies make great mothers.

I have two definitely broody Silkies and two that are part-timers (I should fire them!) and they are on 32 eggs and I'm dying to see when and if anything hatches because they are WAAAYYY overdue. I wish that I could perform a C-section on them.[IMG]
