How many here are actual backyarders vs. Farmers?

I guess we're small farmers. We only have eight and a half acres but on that we grow nearly an acre of vegetables, dairy cows, dairy goats, pigs, chickens and turkeys. I sell turkeys and chickens but the rest if just to fill kids' tummies. Next year we'll be selling a few goats and cows though.....and maybe piggies.

Backyarder now, grew up horse "farming" and with a lot of farmers.

I like being a backyarder - my income isn't dictated by stock prices and weather

Was a backyarder, but pretty close to a full blown farm.

farmer- Could NEVER live in the city. Tried to live in town once when I went to college and I couldn't stand it. Never lost so much sleep in my entire life! plus I found myself driving around all the time and spending a lot of time out at the college farm...

and mind you this college town was maybe 8,000 people. ugh.

Backyarder/hobby farm. I live about 15 min from the "big" town, 5 min from the "little" town (gas station, little supermarket, 1 red light). I live on 2 acres and do grow some veggies, have goats, chickens, dogs, and rescue cats.
