Almost everybody loves a good craft beer, I wanted to start this thread to discuss home brewing, Growing your own Hops, Pitching your own Yeast, Making your own Homebrew equipment and just enjoying a good craft beer.

This is a hobby Ii am very passionate about and love to do. Whats better than the anticipation of waiting for your brew to ferment then pouring that frothy topped porter into a glass. Enjoying every last sip until the batch is gone. Let’s get this thread going and have some fun with it. Post recipes you have tried, what has worked for you and what hasn't.

By no means am i a beer snob I will drink Pabst and Busch with best of them but there is a time and a place for good beer and lets discuss it hear.

Cheers.
Tim

I'm thinking about getting a home brew kit for my birthday. I've always thought about doing it, but this time I have actually been saving bottles. I already have 3 big carboys and a propane burner. I dont know too much about brewing but I think I'm going to start with the all grain method. I like IPA's. Nice hops BTW

Thanks they are Chinook hops that's from last year this year there is twice as many. We just brewed a Hefewiezen and it turned out really nice and is a good one to start with because they are ready to drink in about 8 days.Feel free to ask any questions im always down to help if I can.

I know this is an old thread but homebrew rocks. Chooks love the spent grains too. I'm into ipa s and apa s. Got some hop rhizomes coming soon. I just might give that stout a try although i never brewed one before. I just started all grain a few brews back. Nothing beats a homebrew!! Happy brewing !!

We have been home brewing since October. We started with a 1 gallon kit from Agway. Got it for my BF for his birthday a year ago. It came out great. This year for his birthday I bought him a mega kit - 5 gallons, propane burner and all. We just finished a chocolate stout and it came out great. We are starting a spring beer tomorrow. The recipe looks great and save it to try. Thanks for sharing.

Nope not hard to start at all but beware it gets addictive( kinda like chicken math) and it seems there is always equipment u want to upgrade. But it is rewarding if u enjoy good beer.
