How many hours a day should a broody duck sit on her eggs?

I have a swedish blue duck that went broody 5 days ago. when I wake up, she will be sitting on the eggs but after about 5pm, she gets off and I think she sleeps and does other duck things. I know that she is supposed to do that but when I touch the eggs, they are sometimes cold. This her first time hatching eggs.

I’ve read that ducks should sit on their eggs for 20-23 hours a day, with breaks no longer than an hour.
Maybe, like you said, since she is new she is figuring everything out.

when she leaves the nest, you could cover the eggs a very light layer of nesting material/down feathers to help them warm until she returns.

Keep researching though! Maybe this breed is known for this attitude toward eggs?
