How many hours spent with your chickens?

I realized now that I spend probably about 5 hours with the chickens. Right now I also have 3 silkie chicks, so maybe a little more. (Like 6 hours)

I also probably spend 9 hours a day thinking about chickens. Last night I dreamed about how to lower the costs of their feed.

I also have a chair in the chicken run to watch the chickens, (but sometimes they watch me!)

Also the roost in their coop makes a great sitting spot, so sometimes I’ll just sit in the coop.

Agree with this for most days. When I have time, I might hang out for a little longer. Usually I'm taking photos of them .

Today I was out much longer cleaning the coop.

Mine have the yard to roam in. We have a bench surrounding a large maple tree, so I can sit outside, either in sun or shade, and have chickens sit on my lap. I can read or use my phone, but the girls usually want petting, so I mostly just sit there, pet them, and contemplate life.

I'm usually only able to spend a few hours a week with my chickens due to work but when I'm off I'll spend most of the day working on their runs and coops

Now that it is HOT like 85-100 I don't spend as much time with them because who wants to sit outside in 90 degree weather.

I have been dreaming about chickens off and on all month! Several times it's been me explaining genetics to someone else and I know next to nothing about chicken genetics outside of how to make a splash bird
